Mark F. Fischer became acquainted with Pastoral Councils in 1984, when he served as the first director of the Diocesan Pastoral Council office in Oakland, California. In 1990, he joined the faculty of St. John’s Seminary in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. There he wrote a paraphrase of Karl Rahner’s Foundations of Christian Faith and began to serve as webmaster of the Karl Rahner Society.

Mark is also active in the Conference for Pastoral Planning and Council Development, and is the author and co-editor of various books on pastoral councils.
